US largest solar panel maker records slump

Shares of First Solar, US largest solar panel maker, fell 46% in the past year while the company recorded a net loss of $719.9 million for the fourth quarter. This was mostly due to the restructuring plan which cancelled their Series 5 module production and resulted in significant job cuts. The company will focus on manufacturing its Series 6 module with an efficiency of 18% and 0.42 kW per panel.
