Construction starts at Turkish nuclear power plant project


Akkuyu nuclear power plant, a project estimated to cost €17 billion, marked the start of construction after a three year permitting period. The future power plant will consist of four units of 1200 MW each and is part of Erdogan's '2023 Vision' marking 100 years since the foundation of modern Turkey. Russian Rosatom is the strategic investor of the project aimed to make Turkey more energy independent..
