EPS to start investing in wind


Serbian state utility Elektroprivreda Srbije (EPS) and the German development bank KfW signed a loan agreement worth 80 million in order to provide funding for the construction of a 66 MW wind farm project in Kostolac. THe proposed project is to be the first wind power plant of the EPS generation portfolio, dominated by coal-fired power plants. Overall investment cost is estimated at 97 million euros with the start of construction planned in 2019. The unit is to be built on thermal power plant TE-KO Kostolac site utilising the former lignite mine and ash disposal area.
