Kosovo’s first wind farm gets financing

Kitka wind farm, Kosovo’s first wind project, acquired €18 million financing from EBRD. The 32.4 MW unit will be the first step towards the decarbonisation of Kosovo’s energy sector, currently dominated by fossil based generation. The project was developed by Turkish based Guris and is part of an ambitious energy development strategy that plans to achieve 400 MW of renewable energy sources by 2026. At present, Kosovo has 70 MW of renewables, the majority of which comes from small hydro power plants.
