Slovenia in plans to smarten its grid
Slovenian based companies ELES and GEN-I signed an agreement to form a consortium in order to enable the transformation of the Slovenian electricity network towards the smart grid concept. The two companies revealed ambitious plans announcing the instalment of smart meters and initiating smart grid pilot projects across the country. Among other, the goal is to change the traditional relationship with their consumers and adjust the regulatory framework to better fit the needs of the evolving grid.
