Construction started at combined heating and power plant EL-TO Zagreb
Croatian state owned utility HEP started constructing the combined heat and power plant EL-TO Zagreb. The unit will have an electric output of 150 MW and a heating output of 114 MW. Average annual production will amount to 675 GWh of electricity, 450 GWh of heating energy and 160 GWh of industrial steam. The project’s investment is estimated at around €120 million and as such currently represents HEP’s largest investment project. Construction of the unit is to last for two years and will be conducted by the selected engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor – Italian based FATA. HEP also signed a long term operation and maintenance (O&M) contract with the same company ensuring stability of the unit after commercial operation date (COD).
