HEP to invest €31 million in smart grids by 2022


Croatian state-owned utility HEP signed a Grant Agreement with the European Regional Development Fund worth €20 million regarding the pilot project of introducing smart grid solutions in Croatia. The project involves the computerisation of part of the distribution grid. As reported by HEP, the implementation of advanced measuring infrastructure will enable a more precise calculation of losses, identification of areas with higher losses, detailed monitoring of electricity consumption and active consumption management by end customers. HEP announced ambitious plans replace all of its 2.4 million meters with smart meters in the future, as well..
