Chinese Norinco starts construction on 156 MW wind farm in Croatia

Chinese based Norinco International started preparing construction of a 156 MW wind farm near Senj. The farm should consist of 39 turbines, each having an output of 4 MW. The project is estimated to cost €160 million and will represent the largest Chinese investment in Croatia.

Produced electricity is to be sold on the market, which means that it will be Croatia’s first significant greenfield wind energy project that will not receive incentives for the produced MWh. Planned construction period is 2 years. There is currently an operating wind farm in close vicinity of the project, the 42 MW Vrataruša.
