HEP opens pulic debate on HPP Kosinj

Croatian utility HEP opened the procedure of public debate regarding its 11.5 MW + 22 MW hydro project in Kosinj. HPP Kosinj is to be the first segment of extension of the existing hydro power system of Senj. The project is estimated at €185 million with the construction phase to last up to 56 months. At present, Lika-Gacka hydropower system has an overall installed capacity of 238.5 MW with an average annual production of just over 1 TWh. Environmental impact assessment of the proposed project is available on the website of the Croatian Ministry of Environmental Protection and Energy (link).
